Welcome to the 10th Annual Dirty Dancing Festival! In honor of its namesake film, the Dirty Dancing Festival in the picturesque mountain town of Lake Lure, N.C. showcases bands playing beach and soul-filled hits from the 1960's, and a variety of vendors and film-inspired activities. This year, the festival is adding more entertainment to an already packed schedule of Dirty Dancing fanfare.
The September weekend begins with a ticketed "Kick-Off Party" at 5 p.m. on Sept. 13th featuring live music and entertainment plus a 10th anniversary tribute, followed by FREE public admission to the film screening of "Dirty Dancing."
The Festival continues from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 14th with a loaded schedule of live music, watermelon races and activities, fun competitions and contests, and amazing dance performances by the Asheville Ballet. The day's events conclude with the hilariously renowned Lake Lift Competition where audacious couples re-enact Baby & Johnny's iconic water scene.
